While our main focus is Carnival Glass, we often run across other collectibles or interesting objects to share with you. Very lovely green Satin Glass covered jar with lid, in a gold washed footed metal holder with a leaf and cable design that forms hearts. The satin glass insert has a geometric pattern. The bottom edge is beveled to ease insertion into the holder. This beautiful Biscuit Jar is 7″ tall (not including the handle) x 4½” wide. The handle has a floral motif. The condition is excellent, with no damage to the glass or the holder; some gold wash may have worn thin and there is a bit of rust to be cleaned off. The glass does not fluoresce. No idea of the age. Weighs almost 3 lbs. Refers to the lack of production issues which plagued antique glassware. Modern glassware is relatively free of those production issues due to modernized machinery, advances in glass making chemistry, and quality control. Even so, because modern Art Glass is generally still hand shaped, hand-painted and/or hand-iridized, each piece is technically a one-of-a-kind, and you may still find a minor production issue from time to time.
