An unusual silver mounted and cut glass tobacco jar by George Nathan & Ridley Hayes of Icknield Street / Howard Street, Birmingham and Hatton Garden, London. The late Victorian or Edwardian jar is hallmarked on the base, rim collar and underside of lid which has a charming novelty pipe finial / handle. The base of the jar has a cut glass starburst design. The original glass is in perfect condition and has a couple of small bubbles, the silver rim collar and lid have a couple of dings. Diameter of glass: 8 cm (3-1/8). Diameter of base: 9.6 cm (3-3/4).
