Rainbow; aka Cathedral; Recessed Panels; Colonial. 1 lbs Candy Jar #636. Celeste Blue with Stretch Iridescence. Antique Stretch Glass c. Measurements: 4 3/8″ rim diameter, 6 5/8″ high to the rim and 10 1/4 high to the finale. Weight, prepackaged: 1 lb 13.7 oz. The lid flange has a small (1/8) nick on the outer edge and several nicks on the inner edge of the flange (the later is common). The balance of the lid and jar are free of chips, cracks and fleabites. There are no notable marks from use and storage. The glass is wonderfully clear and free of cloudiness. There is a notable encased air bubble in the lid finale, a common flaw in antique glass, but worth noting due to it’s location. The iridescence is even and complete with slight stretch effect most notable on the rim and panels. Fenton and Northwood made near identical Cathedral style candy jars Both companies 1lbs versions were numbered 636! This lid and base are both Northwood’s with a indented flange on the lid (Fenton’s is straight) and the mold seam to the right of the raised panels (Fenton’s seam is to the left). Our photos are taken under bright daylight LED lights which brings out the wonderful colors without over accentuating them. Pictures are of the item(s) you will receive.
