This is a beautiful antique art glass SWEETMEAT, Cracker or Biscuit JAR with a Chevron or Herringbone pattern – in Mother of Pearl/air trap Satin Glass, shaded pale Pink at the bottom to a deep Cranberry at the top. It is decorated with hand painted, raised enamel Flowers on the front and a Butterfly on the back. Finished with a silverplate collar, lid and a Gold Chain topped handle. Unmarked – Maker, Country of Origin and actual date of production – Unknown – Likely English, circa 1890’s. Measurements : Overall – 6.5″ tall handle up, 5.75″ wide. 4.5″ high to finial, 3″ high to top of collar. 3.75″ wide top, 3″ wide lid, 2.75″ wide mouth, 5″ across handle to handle. 5.5 wide base.
