I don’t know if that is true. I bought this jar and lid years ago and have always considered it a matched set. This American Brilliant Period Cut Glass Mustard/Jam Jar is a true cut glass masterpiece. The jar is clear white in color and has a cylinder shape with a handle S Kirk & Son Sterling silver lid type. The item is small in size with a diameter of 2 3/4 inches and a height of 4 1/2 inches. It was produced in the United States in 1910 with a production technique of studio crafted. The jar is made of high-quality glass and crystal material. The lid of the jar is made of sterling silver by S Kirk & Son. The item is an antique piece and is handmade with a decorative theme. The jar has a single compartment and is perfect for various uses. This cut glass is intricately cut by a master on an incredible blank with a wonderful polish. The cut glass portion weighs approximately 11.26 oz. The sterling silver lid weighs approximately 38.9 grams. This beautiful cut glass jar is in very good condition with no chips or flakes of cracks that I could see.
