Antique French Art Nouveau Frosted Glass Hand Painted Enameled Violets with Gold Gild Biscuit Jar Silver Plate Mounts 7.5″ Tall x 5.75″ L x 5″ W, with handle up is 9.5″ Tall, weighs 2.5 lbs. Looks like a RARE Legras Mont Joye glass biscuit barrel, produced around 1900 in France. Known for its frosted glass with an “ice effect” and decorated with enameled violets and gilded accents. Found in Orange, Virginia. There is wear to both the silver plate and the glass, there is discoloration around the top edge of the jar, a spot where the handle hit the glass jar and frosting is missing. See photos for details.
