Knowing How to Determine the Quality of Waterford Crystal. Is a cord or line in crystal a flaw? A line or cord is not considered a flaw. This almost invisible difference in the density of the crystal occurs during the fusing of molten crystal. Caring for Your Waterford Crystal. Crystal and Glass should be hand washed separately in warm soapy water, rinsed thoroughly and dried with a lint free cloth.
