Antique cut glass crystal biscuit barrel / jar manufactured in the early 1900s by Daniel & Arter of Birmingham, England. The bottom of the lid and handle are marked with the Daniel & Arter “D & A” mark, which was used until 1930, when the company liquidated. The silver-plated lid and handle are also marked with the acronym E. (Electro-Plated Nickel Silver) and the number 8568, which is the barrel’s model number. It measures 6.5″ tall (from base to tip of lid), 9.25″ tall (from base to tip of handle), and the diameter of the base measures 4. It is in good overall antique condition, but there is some tarnishing to the silver-plate and a few chips to the cut glass (the largest being 1/2) as pictured.
