Bienvenue à UpStaged Vintage. This is a wonderful mid-century candy jar in a dark green art glass with a circus tent style lid with clear ball stem. Bought it here in France, I think it is probably Italian art glass from the Empoli region. The quality and style certainly suggest this but there is no label or markings, so please look at all photos and assure yourself it is as you expect it to be. Certainly decorative enough to display on its own, you could also use it to store candy, or maybe cotton wool or bath salts. It is a delightful mid-century decorators piece which will look fabulous on a Scandinavian style teak credenza or mid century modern shelving unit and looks especially attractive when it catches the sunlight. It will add a variation of height and colour to a collection of genie bottles and it would look fantastic amidst any collection of coloured art glass. It would make a lovely gift for any art glass lover, especially if they collect Empoli and/or candy jars. It might even be just the prop you need for your photo shoot or theatrical production. In EXCELLENT vintage condition, no cracks or chips that I can see, there are a couple of tiny bubbles within the glass but this is not unusual in mouth-blown glass pieces.
